Main areas of learning

Understanding of the world
At JKIS, students learn about other people, their families, where they live, how animals and plants live and how they differ from each other. They will also get familiar with different cultures and festivals around the world.

Hands on learning
JKIS is not a traditional school where students passively listen to their teachers. Instead, students learn by doing. They actively engage in a subject matte.

Play
Play represents the most important part of a childhood. It provides rich learning opportunities and stimulates the child's brain and creativity. JKIS fully supports play-based learning method.

Language Arts
Early literacy activities build rich language skills. In order to establish a solid foundation for reading skills, JKIS provides early literacy practices such as:reading, playing, speaking, signing and writing.

Art
The best ways for children to express themselves is via arts, visual, dance/movement, drama/ play, music and writing. JKIS lets students express themselves freely. At JKIS, students will learn about famous artists and their works, various art techniques and materials.

Creativity
Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge!" It promotes the mental health of the child and provides the opportunity for trying out new ideas. Imagining, trying and experimenting with new things help develop critical thinking in children. JKIS truly supports all of the above mentioned.

Learning outdoors
At JKIS, children spend a lot of time outdoors either at our garden or in nearby parks. Spending time and playing outside helps to develop skills such as creativity, independence and confidence.

Mathematics
Mathematics is everywhere. It means sorting, measuring, building, making comparisons, and describing the environment. At JKIS,students will have many ways to practice math, become familiar with numbers, try calculating simple additions and subtractions.

Science
Science is a vital part of early childhood. At JKIS, students explore, take actions, raise questions, describe, use variety of simple tools, develop, work and discuss ideas with others.

Music
Music positively affects the quality of children’s lives. It facilitates brain growth and development. It should be a valued and ongoing part of children’s experience and learning. At JKIS students will experience singing, listening to music, making music with instruments and moving to music on a daily basis.
